Long time River Falls businessman and former resident Jerry Kolasinski passed away on Wednesday November 29th in Warsaw Poland. Jerry was born to John and Esther Kolasinski on August 22, 1943, the 4th of 8 children. He graduated from River Falls High School and also attended UW River Falls. Jerry later purchased the family named insurance agency from his father and owned it for many years. While Jerry lived in River Falls, he was a volunteer fireman, a member of the Toast Masters, the Chamber of Commerce, and the River Falls Hospital Board. He was a graduate of the Army National Guard Officers Training and was considered a veteran of foreign wars. Jerry also graduated from Metro State University. Jerry had an insatiable curiosity and wanderlust which resulted in him living in many places such as California, Oregon, Texas and Poland, making friends wherever he resided. Without a doubt his greatest love was his 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Jerry was never happier than when he was teaching them songs, old TV jingles, silly tricks, jokes or playing a myriad of games with them. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steve. He is survived by his wife Carol of Chico, California; loving children, Jon (Basia) of Warsaw, Poland, Julie (Pat) Slupski of Chico, California, and Jill Kolasinski (Rip Esselstyn) of Austin Texas; Grandchildren, Arek and Olaf Kolasinski, Joseph and Paul Slupski, Kole, Sophie and Hope Esselstyn; brothers, Warren,Chuck (Rose), David (Karen) and Gene (Julie); sisters, Cecile (Paul Brainard) and Vicky (Bob Belknap); along with many nieces and nephews.
